ABSTRACT
The article reports on the approval of CableLabs Inc. for retail consumer-electronics (CE) devices that use the industry's Tru2way interactive cable standard. Accordingly, Samsung Electronics was the first manufacturer to sign the new Tru2way license agreement that allows the CE makers to self-certify two way cable-ready products. The deal also carries the rights of participation of CE manufacturers in CableLabs processes, establishes approval of new digital output via a four studio approach.
