ABSTRACT
The article reports on the installation of a cashless point-of-sale system at the Public Schools in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Deborah Taylor, school foodservice director, says her goal goal was to make eating school lunch meals a really cool thing to do for the 4,000 children in her district. She states that she made a big deal out of the fact that if you used the card it would be fast and it became like a bank account for the children that their parents could put a little money in and they could use it for extras.
