ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the marketing strategies of grocery operators in selling premium natural meat. The Golub Corp., operator of Price Chopper supermarkets, runs promotions, such as House of BBQ and the multimedia "We Know Meat" campaign, with a series of product demonstrations, cooking classes and educational devices. Farmer-owned cooperative Organic Prairie offers an in-store marketing program that allows retailers to draw maximum attention to all organic meat via the use of posters, door clings, point-of-purchase materials and retail education.
