ABSTRACT
The article reports that market demand for heavy truck trailers has hit the 100,000-units mark in Eastern Europe in 2008. The entry cites that market share for brand new trailers increased by more than 33% in six nations. It also notes that demand for imported used trailers from Western Europe was not taken into consideration for the market figures. Also mentioned as the largest markets in the region are Poland, Russia and Turkey which account for 61% of the demand. Capitalizing on the demand are trailer manufacturers such as Schmitz and Krone.
