The article focuses on the increase in the price of gasoline in the U.S. in the year 2008. The average price of gasoline increased to a record level during the year. According to Dan Gilligan, the president of the Petroleum Marketers Association of America, some retailers think that high price of gasoline will result in reduced consumption and increased production.
