ABSTRACT
The article discusses the difficulty of preserving the tiger population of India. The author states that the Chinese demand for tiger parts to be used in traditional Chinese medicine has led to an increase in the poaching of Indian tigers, as all Chinese tigers have already been hunted to extinction. The efforts of Indira Gandhi, the former Prime Minister of India, to protect Indian tigers are discussed.
