ABSTRACT
The article reports on the recognition of Tucson as one of the rising biotechnology sites in Arizona. In the March 2008 edition of "Business Facilities," the city was commended due to its strong research base in genomics and personalized medicine. Its programs include the Technology Research Initiative Fund and the planned University of Arizona Bioscience Park. Joe Snell, CEO of Tucson Regional Economic Opportunities, cited biotechnology among the industries for proactive business development.
