ABSTRACT
The article features the construction equipment maker Caterpillar and its plan of doing business in China. Caterpillar has a plan to capture more of that business as it bulldozes its way to a targeted $4 billion in revenues in China by 2010. Since buying a minority interest in SEM in 2005, Cat has been working to upgrade the quality and durability of SEM machines, while sharing its prowess in manufacturing, safety and dealer service. Cat's formula for success include a broad sales and service network, supported by financial services.
