ABSTRACT
The article deals with the Global 2,000, a list of the top companies across the world. It has been a bad stretch for financial companies. Citigroup's plunge from its customary top spot in list is nothing short of epochal. An even more stunning collapse was that of Swiss bank UBS, whose uncreditworthy adventures have dropped it from 9 to 386. First-timers on the list include Fortescue Metals, Seven Network, Suzlon Energy and Mahindra & Mahindra.
