ABSTRACT
The article discusses ways that school districts can increase their Internet presence by optimizing school websites. The author notes that the Internet search company Google has introduced website tools to optimize websites for easier access through Internet searches. He recommends applying for a Google webmaster account (GWA), submitting a website and analyzing the website's design using GWA tools that note access problems and popular keywords. The GWA system also provides statistics on website visitation and search engine rankings. The author warns against creating duplicate websites or inserting text into images.
