ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the carrier Ethernet as an emerging mobile backhaul technology. It relates that the trend is propelled by the development of smartphones and personal digital assistant (PDA) with unlimited data plans. The challenge for wireless carriers is to return all of this information traffic on networks that were created for voice.
