ABSTRACT
The article reports on a $4.0 million, Phase IIIb research & development (R&D) contract under the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Detect to Protect project, received by ICx Technologies, a developer of sensor technologies for homeland security, force protection and commercial applications. The contract is aimed at finishing prototype development for a system that will be able to detect and identify a list of 10 bioterrorism threats, such as bacteria and viruses.
