ABSTRACT
The article presents a study on the prediction of social anxiety based on dysfunctional attitudes and self esteem. The study group comprised of 339 university students, sophomores and freshmen. Results revealed a mid-level correlation between social anxiety scores and subscales of the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES) as a whole. Some of the subscales were important predictors of social anxiety. However, some of the RSES subscales, particularly the self-esteem subscales, were not important predictors of social anxiety.
