Macworld;Jun2008, Vol. 25 Issue 6, p24
The article focuses on OS X 10.0, Apple Inc.'s operating system which was introduced in 2001. It informs that OS X 10.0 was the first ground-up overhaul of the Macintosh operating system since its introduction in 1984. Version 10.0 brought various design changes to the operating system platform which include Unix-based underpinnings, true preemptive multitasking, and the Aqua interface. At first 10.0 did not let users watch digital versatile discs (DVDs) or burn compact discs (CDs). It is maintained that nonnative applications have become a thing of the past, and OS X has become the truly modern operating system.
