ABSTRACT
In this article, the author addresses a number of issues concerning workaholism. The author begins with the role of human resource departments in dealing with workaholism. He then discusses the impact of workaholism on individual health and productivity, on work colleagues and on home life. In addition, the author suggests measures to tackle workaholism, including staff self-diagnosis and personal performance measures based on outcomes and team goals or training programmes for managers.
