ABSTRACT
This article describes the innovative approaches to people management introduced by Indian companies in Great Britain. Julian Birkinshaw, professor of strategic management at London Business School in England, claimed that Indian companies are very hierarchical and focused on cost control. Some industry leaders also observe the practice of employee empowerment by Indian companies. Indian bank ICICI adopt a leadership development programme, which involves participants mentoring each other through a series of group exercises and discussions.
