ABSTRACT
The article reports that Air Products Polymers has implemented a temporary price increase of $0.03 per wet pound on its vinyl acetate-based emulsion products effective December 15, 2007. It mentions that the price increase is the company's response to a sudden rise in the cost of methanol which serves as the key precursor to the basic raw materials used for its emulsion products. It says that extremely tight supply as well demand condition led to the rising cost of methanol.
