ABSTRACT
The article presents information on the architectural designs of the Southern Tidewater region of the U.S. Wood and brick were the basic building materials used during the 18th century. Diamond-paned casement windows were common. Information on the architectural designs of Medway, the oldest house of South Carolina, is also provided.
