ABSTRACT
The article focuses on intuition as a guide for decision-making in business. The 1980s reportedly saw intuition gain respectability in management circles, but it is shown that pure hunches alone rarely lead to success as the cases of Home Depot and the Dodge Viper demonstrate. On the other hand, it is stated that suspect data and its quick analysis also lead to inaccurate information. The need for a balance of judgment with careful data analysis in making decisions is stressed.
