ABSTRACT
The article reports on the plan of Hooker Furniture Corp. and its subsidiaries Sam Moore and Bradington-Young Inc. to register for Enhancing Furniture's Environmental Culture (EFEC), a program of the American Home Furnishings Alliance. EFEC, which was developed for furniture producers, emphasizes better management of resources and materials on a facility-by-facility basis. The company had established a Sustainability Steering Committee in 2007 to improve its sustainability strategy.
