ABSTRACT
The article reports that the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has awarded a 10-year $425 million contract to Acambis plc to manufacture its smallpox vaccine ACAM2000. Acambis also announced that it has completed an oversubscribed rights issue, raising £40 million from new British and continental European institutional investors. Details of the contract are presented.
