ABSTRACT
The article features the Kansas City Art Institute (KCAI) at Kansas City, Missouri. The institute's fiber students work in individual and group studio spaces within the program's facility. The program encourages experiments by fostering unlimited access to a fully equipped fiber studio. The mission of the Fiber Department at KCAI is to provide leadership in visual arts and design education by preparing gifted students for lifelong creativity through intensive interaction with pre-eminent faculty and facilities and by stimulating active public awareness, support, and participation in the visual arts and design.
