ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the artwork of Petra Soesemann, a fiber artist, sculptor and chairperson of the Foundation Program at the Cleveland Institute of Arts in Ohio. As a Fulbright Fellow, Soesemann used to travel in Peru to study the relationship of Incan architecture with the natural landscape. Petra Soesemann's project for over 15 years has been to serve the weightless image, that is, one unburdened by the complex narrative responses of viewers to explain it. Her famous works include the "Night Garden," "The Gambler" and "The Swimmer."
