ABSTRACT
The author offers tips for utilities on encouraging nuclear workers in Great Britain. He says that there were more media studies undergraduates than physics and chemistry undergraduates combined in the region in 2004. He adds that the shortage of people with nuclear skills could hinder the ability of firms to manage their existing nuclear operations. Also outlined are steps energy companies can take to ensure they can access and apply the nuclear skills they will need, including building supply chain skills.
