ABSTRACT
The article discusses the author's reasons for not accepting the common explanation for the development of life. Gradualism is a requirement for Darwin's theory but certain biochemical systems are irreducibly complex and could not be formed, it is argued, in a gradual manner. The author provides a theory to replace the commonly held Darwinian explanations that suggests the presence of a designing intelligent agent. Intelligent design theory is not meant to be dogmatic in its support of religious or atheistic ideas.
