Kindergarten Readiness: A Challenge

The article discusses the recommended criteria to determine readiness of young children for kindergarten. The author recommends restricting enrollment to kindergarten before the age of 5 &fract2; sharply focused kindergarten readiness screening, and early involvement of parents. Legislators, education professionals, school boards, parents and school districts in the U.S. were challenged by the author to implement the recommendations.
