The article reports on the strong performance of Hynix Semiconductor in the declining dynamic random access memory (DRAM) market in 2007, according to market research firm Gartner Inc. The research firm said the semiconductor industry worldwide posted a 3.8 percent increase in revenue to $273.9 billion. Gartner managing vice president (VP) Richard Gordon stressed the need for semiconductor vendors to move beyond tracking the performance of their end customers and markets. The decline in the market was caused by sharp price decreases.
