ABSTRACT
The article discusses research on the association of breast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) at the time of initial diagnosis with improved outcomes following breast-conservation treatment with radiation for women with early-stage invasive breast carcinoma or ductal carcinoma in situ. It references a study published in a 2008 issue of the "Journal of Clinical Oncology." The researchers have examined 756 women who underwent breast conservation treatment including breast irradiation between 1992 and 2001.
