ABSTRACT
The article reports on the extension given by the U.S. Forest Service to the public to comment on the environmental impact of the proposed Rosemont Copper Mine in the Santa Rita Mountains in Arizona. U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords said that the ultimate decision of whether to build the mine or not depends on the economic decision of Augusta Resource Corp., the owner of the mine. Other elected officials emphasize their strong opposition to the proposed mine.
