ABSTRACT
The article reports on the effect of the ruling of the U.S. court on the cost of narcotic drugs. It states about the case of Oxycontin which has won a patent infringement suit that will keep the generic form of the medication off the market. According to hospice medical director Ric Baxter at St. Luke's Hospice, the cost of the extended-release Oxycontin is over and above the per diem reimbursement for medication.
