ABSTRACT
The article reports on the launching of the Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC) Information Governance Gateway (JIGG), hosted by Mimas and led by the University of Manchester in England. According to the author, Gateway has been commissioned as part of JISC's ongoing programme of activities that is designed at supporting and developing institutional records managements and compliance with data-related information. JISC programme director Andy Dyson welcomes the launching of the new programme and states that compliance with information legislation has become an important aspect of institutional governance in higher education.
