ABSTRACT
The article provides information on the Inland Waterways Trust Fund in the U.S. It states that the fund was established by the Department of the Treasury in 1984 pursuant to section 203 of the Inland Waterways Revenue Act of 1978. Under the 26 U.S. Code 9506, amounts from taxes on fuel used in commercial transportation on inland waterways are appropriated to the trust fund.
