ABSTRACT
The article reports on the ruling promulgated by the South Carolina Supreme Court stating that the Time Warner Cable Inc. can be barred from providing digital telephone service in some part of the states that are serviced by the rural telephone firms. It added that the voice-over-Internet protocol technology would jeopardize the revenue of the rural phone firms leading the firms to increase rates.
