ABSTRACT
The article provides tips on using vocoders in sound recording. Two inputs of a vocoder are the instrument and the microphone. Some vocoding options are the standalone hardware units, built-in vocoders and software plug-ins. It provides tips on how to create convincing talking-instrument effects, choir effect and the sound of a chanting crowd.
