ABSTRACT
The article discusses the 360 deals which allow record companies to take a cut from record sales and every other aspect of an artist's career, including revenue from touring, licensing, publishing and merchandising. According to record labels, the deal provide higher splits that what is offered in traditional deals. The article points out that the deal will benefit artists because instead of making the standard $1.50 per record, they will average around $3.50 per unit sold.
