ABSTRACT
The article reports that the Adaptive Voltage Scaling (AVS) has utilized closed-loop control and configure gains to achieve maximum system energy efficiency. According to the author, AVS is a system-level scheme that has components in both the processor and power supply. He added that an ultimate Kelvin sense connection for the voltage regulator feedback is being provided by the AVS loop by sensing the voltage in the load. Moreover, Energy Management Unit (EMU) is the last component of the AVS loop. He emphasized that with the use of a configurable feedback loop with the power supply, the AVS system achieves accurate and controlled voltage scaling.
