ABSTRACT
The article deals with the Government Accountability Report, submitted to the U.S. House Energy & Commerce Committee in January 2008, containing one fact that stunned both the committee and the food world. According to the report, at the current levels of staffing at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, it would take 1,900 years to inspect every foreign food plant.
