The article reports on the assertion of bedding consultant that majority of U.S. mattress producers are not in compliance with the federal mattress flammability standard. It cites that various suppliers have asserted that failure to comply with the record-keeping and quality assurance requirements of the standard did not mean that the bedding producers are making unsafe mattresses. Moreover, it is noted that most manufacturers have tried hard to comply with the said standard.
