The article focuses on several advisors shifting from wire houses to independent channels, in line with independent broker-dealer. Chip Roame, managing principal of Tiburon Strategic Advisors, states that the independent representative channel was used to be less professional and they offered weaker technology and fewer products. However, as they have made improvements, their platforms are equaling to that of wire houses where product choices have extended. It expects the flow of representatives from wire houses to independent channels to continue.
