Heineken's refreshing approach to reward

The article reports that Heineken has been using non-financial rewards such as local recognition schemes and team awards to engage its employees. David Wightman, head of group compensation and benefits at Heineken, told delegates that identification with the company's brand values of respect, quality and enjoyment was crucial. All of Heineken's breweries compete for the annual beer quality award, a global recognition scheme. Wightman explained that local recognition schemes tend to be linked to local campaigns.
