ABSTRACT

Julian Burnside, a commercial barrister in Melbourne, puts in hundreds of hours each year in pro bono work on human rights and refugee cases. Richard Chandler, chief executive of Orient Global in Singapore, started a $100 million fund in 2007 that invests in private schools in India and other developing countries. Chen Guangbiao, chief executive of Jiangsu Huangpu Investment, is one of the largest contributors in China.
