Giving in Kind

Tan, Jessica

Forbes Asia;3/10/2008, Vol. 4 Issue 4, p47
The article focuses on the charitable works of Singaporean philanthropist and engineer Wee Lin. He does not claim a huge fortune or a rich foundation. He works for himself as an engineering consultant in a tiny office in a strip mall on the outskirts of Singapore. But for the past decade he has given his money, and his love, to the people of North Korea, some 3,000 miles away. Wee has taken on other causes, too. He distributed food and computers to children in Sri Lanka after it was hit by the tsunami in 2004.
