ABSTRACT
The authors describe an activity designed to explore the physician-as-patient perspective in Canada. Interviews with Canadian physicians who were suffering from different diseases were conducted. The physicians were asked what they felt when they were first diagnosed, how did someone or something in healthcare affected them positively and how they adapted to the health challenges. The physicians' responses were then integrated into patchwork squares, 24 were woven into 3 quilts and each one features an answer to one of the three questions. Each quilt also has a center pocket containing a small book with additional statement from the physicians.
