Shimano Snaps Up Pearl Izumi

The article reports that Shimano Inc., the Japanese cycling and fishing gear maker, has reached an agreement to buy sports apparels manufactured by the firm Pearl Izumi USA, for $69.5 million. The purchase will include distribution rights for the Pearl Izumi brand in North America, Europe and Australia. It is mentioned that Pearl Izumi has become a wholly owned subsidiary of Shimano's U.S. operations, but will continue to operate from its facilities in Colorado and Germany.
