ABSTRACT
The article provides an overview of some of the typical changes that may occur as people age and offers recommendations on how well-conceived baths can contribute to the continued health, safety, and independence of the growing demographic in the U.S. Factors to be considered for typical design include (1) adjusted heights of fixtures, fittings, storage, and control, (2) intuitive controls and organization to compensate for memory losses, and (3) optional seating at the major bathroom centers.
