ABSTRACT
The article reports on the plan of Vaughan Furniture Co., a case goods producer, to close its B.C. Vaughan plant, its last domestic manufacturing facility in Galax, Virginia. It was stated that the closure will affect 275 employees including several corporate positions. According to Bill Vaughan, the company's chief executive officer, the termination of the factory is caused by the increasing popularity of imported wooden bedroom furniture.
