ABSTRACT
The article reports on the 40th anniversary of sound studio Mastering Lab in California. The mastering lab has two studio locations in Ojai and Hollywood. President and co-founder Doug Sax notes that the lab was the first independent mastering service in the country. He adds that the two studio locations have two fixed rates for self-released albums.
