ABSTRACT
The article provides a summary of economic, political and business environment risks for the Czech Republic in 2008. The Czech-Moravian Chamber of Unions called a strike alert on March 3 over the government's tax and health reforms. A real GDP growth of 5.0 percent is expected this year, followed by a slowing down to 4.4. percent by 2012. Business Monitor International (BMI) forecasts unemployment will continue to decline over its five-year forecast period.
