ABSTRACT
The article deals with the condition of the import industry in Saudi Arabia as of February 2008. Since joining the World Trade Organisation (WTO) in December 2005, many Saudi companies have seen foreign imports increasing and their own positions in the market being threatened. The kingdom's pharmaceuticals producers are especially concerned that since WTO accession, pharmaceuticals imports have soared and foreign firms dominate the market.
