ABSTRACT
The article reports on the increase in the advanced seasonally adjusted For-Hire Truck Tonnage Index of the American Trucking Associations by 0.8% in November 2007 following a 0.2% contraction in October. There was an 8.5% decrease in the not seasonally adjusted index from October. The said index grew 3.3% in 2007 compared with the 2006 figures. It predicts the continuation of the slowdown in tonnage volumes into 2008.
